Configuring Cisco IM and P connections in Verba

Overview

The first step is to configure your IM&P servers. Please go toĀ Configuring Cisco Unified IM and Presence for Jabber IM recordingĀ for detailed instructions on how to do that.
The configuration differs for Cisco IM&P server versions 9.x and 10.x. You can find detailed instructions on both below.

Connections for Cisco IM&P version 9.x and below

Step 1 -Ā In theĀ VerbaĀ Web Interface go toĀ System > Servers >Ā Select your Recording (or Single) ServerĀ Ā > Click on the Service ActivationĀ tab.

Step 2 -Ā Activate theĀ Verba Cisco Compliance ServiceĀ by clicking on theĀ Ā icon.

Step 3 -Ā Click on theĀ Change Configuration SettingsĀ tab.

Step 4 -Ā Expand theĀ Cisco Compliance Service \ GeneralĀ node. Set theĀ CiscoĀ IM&P Server VersionĀ setting to Cisco IM&P 9.x and below.

Step 5 -Ā To configure a connection, in the next line click on the Ā icon.

Step 6 - At the right panel, set the Component Name setting the following way: open-compliance.node_name

The node name can be found by going to the Messaging \ Compliance \ Compliance Settings menu in the IM&P server.

TheĀ PortĀ andĀ PasswordĀ should be the same as what previously set in the Compliance Profile that is assigned to this node in the IM&P servers.

ClickĀ Save.

Step 7 - Expand the IM Recording node, and set the Enable Recorder setting to Yes, and set the Internal Doman, Number Pattern setting according to the internal SIP domains.

Step 8 -Ā Save the changes by clicking on theĀ Ā icon.

Step 9 -Ā A notification banner will appear on the top. Click on theĀ click hereĀ link, so you will be redirected to theĀ Configuration TasksĀ tab. Click on theĀ ExecuteĀ button in order to execute the changes.

Step 10 -Ā Click on theĀ Service ControlĀ tab.

Step 11 -Ā Start theĀ Verba Cisco Compliance ServiceĀ by clicking on theĀ Ā icon.

Step 12 -Ā Repeat the steps on all Recording servers if there are multiple.

Connections for Cisco IM&P version 10.x and above

Step 1 -Ā In theĀ VerbaĀ Web Interface go toĀ System > Servers >Ā Select your Recording (or Single) ServerĀ Ā > Click on the Service ActivationĀ tab.

Step 2 -Ā Activate theĀ Verba Cisco Compliance ServiceĀ by clicking onĀ theĀ Ā icon.

Step 3 -Ā Click on theĀ Change Configuration SettingsĀ tab.

Step 4 -Ā Expand theĀ Cisco Compliance Service \ GeneralĀ node. Set theĀ CiscoĀ IM&P Server VersionĀ setting toĀ Cisco IM&P 10.x and above.

Step 5 -Ā To configure a connection, in the next line click onĀ theĀ Ā icon.

Step 6 -Ā At the right panel, set theĀ Component NameĀ setting.Ā The component name will be the Open-port Component Name that is shown in the IM&P servers under Messaging \ Compliance \ Compliance Settings menuĀ as shownĀ inĀ the picture below.

Configure extensions

After finalizing the configuration of the recording services, make sure you have added the SIP URIs you want to record to the Verba extension list. This can be done manually (Extension list) or usingĀ Active Directory Synchronization.
